कलिंग देश के राजा यशोधरा की एक बेटी थी । उसका नाम सुचिमा था । वह बड़ी सुंदर, सुशील और वीर थी । उसके इन गुणों की चर्चा घर-घर होती थी । सुचिमा बड़ी हो गई, तो राजा को उसके विवाह की चिंता सताने लगी।
यूं तो हजारों युवक सुचिमा से विवाह करने के इच्छुक थे, परन्तु उनमें से राजा को कोई भी पसंद नहीं आता था । यदि कोई लड़को यशोधन को पसंद आ जाता, तो वह सुचिमा को पसंद नहीं आता था । इस प्रकार सुचिमा का विवाह राजा के लिए चिंता का विषय बन गया । वह दिन-रात इसी उलझन में खोए रहते । एक दिन यशोधन के गुरु महल में पधारे । राजा ने उन्हें अपनी समस्या बताई।
“बस, इतनी-सी बात के लिए दुखी हो ?” -राजा की बात सुनकर गुरुदेव हँस पड़े-“इसका इलाज बहुत आसान है ! सुचिमा के विवाह के लिए स्वयंवर रचाओ । स्वयंवर द्वारा जो वर सुचिमा को मिलेगा, वह उसके बिलकुल योग्य होगा ।”
“स्वयंवर के लिए क्या शर्त रखू गुरुदेव!” – राजा ने पूछा ।
गुरुदेव बोले जंगल में जो रास्ता है वह एक गुफा पर ख़त्म होता है । उस गुफा में अनमोल खजाना है । खजाने तक पहुँचने के लिए तीन दरवाजों से गुजरना पड़ता है । जो युवक उन तीन दरवाजों से गुजरकर वह अनमोल खजाना लाएगा, उसका विवाह राजकुमारी सुचिमा के साथ कर दिया जाएगा ।”
“यह तो बहुत अच्छी बात है ।” -राजा की आँखें खुशी से चमकने लगीं । उसने तुरंत घोषणा करने का आदेश दे दिया।
घोषणा सुनते ही राजकुमारी सुचिमा से विवाह करने के इच्छुक नवयुवक खुशी से झूम उठे । वे उस अनमोल खजाने की खोज में अलग-अलग चल पड़े । परन्तु खजाने तक पहुँचने का रास्ता इतना आसान नहीं था । वह बड़ा ही भयानक जंगल था । जंगली जानवरों की। भरमार थी । कदम-कदम पर विषैले कीड़े-मकोड़े रेंगते थे । जानवरो और कीड़ों से बचते हुए रास्ता ढूँढ़ना बहुत कठिन था ।
जो युवक उस खजाने की खोज में निकले थे, वे जंगल में पहुंचते ही जंगली पशुओं से डरकर या घायल होकर लौट आए । कुछ आगे बढ़े भी, तो जा न सके, क्योंकि जहाँ वह जंगल समाप्त होता था, वहाँ तेजी से बहने वाली एक नदी थी । उसमें बड़े-बड़े घड़ियाल थे।
उस नदी के पानी का बहाव बहुत तेज था, इसलिए वहाँ नाव नहीं। चल सकती थी । उस नदी को तैरकर पार करने के सिवा कोई चारा नहीं। था । परन्तु नदी में उतरना अपनी मौत को निमंत्रण देने के समान था।। घड़ियाल नदी में उतरने वाले पर टूट पड़ते थे । और उसे चट कर जाते थे । यह देख, सभी हिम्मत हार गए।
कलिंग में ही समीर नाम का एक बहादुर नवयुवक भी रहता था। उसने घोषणा सुनी, तो उसके मन में भी राजकुमारी को पाने की इच्छा जागी । वह उस अनमोल खजाने को लाने के लिए निकल पड़ा।
जंगल से गुजरते हुए उसे भी उन्हीं मुसीबतों का सामना करना पड़ा । रास्ते में उसे एक जगह एक साँप ने डस लिया । बड़ी मुश्किल से उसने विष उतारा । आगे एक शेर ने उस पर आक्रमण करके बुरी तरह घायल कर दिया । फिर भी मुसीबतों को झेलता, वह किसी तरह नदी के किनारे पहुँच गया ।
नदी के किनारे पहुँचते ही उसे नदी में कई घड़ियाल तैरते नजर आए । परन्तु उसने हिम्मत दिखाई । अपनी तलवार मजबूती से थाम कर दिया । वह नदी में कूद गया । नदी में कूदते ही उस पर कई घड़ियालों ने हमला कर दिया ।
समीर अपनी तलवार से उन्हें मारने-भगाने लगा । वह तैरता हुआ आगे भी बढ़ता गया । उसे एक-दो जगह घाव भी लगे । आखिर वह नदी के दूसरे किनारे पर पहुँच ही गया ।
नदी के दूसरे किनारे पर उसे एक बड़ा-सा महल नजर आया । वह महल की ओर बढ़ा । महल के दरवाजे पर उसे एक तख्ती नजर आई । उस पर लिखा था – ‘इस महल की हर चीज का मालिक में हैं। करी अनुमति के बिना कोई भी इस महल की किसी भी चीज को छूने या उठाने का प्रयत्न न करे ।’
उन शब्दों को पढ़ता, वह महल के भीतर गया, तो उसकी आँखें आश्चर्य से फटी की फटी रह गईं । महल में चारों ओर हीरे-मोती और सोना-चाँदी के ढेर लगे थे । उनकी रक्षा करने वाला वहाँ कोई भी नहीं था।
महल के बाहर एक नाव थी । कोई भी उन हीरे-मोतियों को ते चुराकर, उस नाव द्वारा आसानी से भाग सकता था । परन्तु समीर ने इस बारे में सोचा भी नहीं । वह आगे बढ़ा।
रास्ते में उसे एक बुढ़िया मिली । वह बुढ़िया सख्त घायल थी । समीर से बोली-“बेटा, एक सांड ने मुझे बुरी तरह घायल कर दिया है । घावों में सख्त पीड़ा हो रही है । मेरी सहायता करो।” बुढ़िया का कष्ट ना देखकर समीर बहुत दुखी हुआ । वह भूल गया कि वह वहाँ किसलिए से आया है ?
बुढ़िया को उठाकर वह उसकी कुटिया में गया, जो समीप ही थी। बुढ़िया को बिस्तर पर लिटाकर वह जंगल से जड़ी-बूटियां जमा करने लगा, जिससे बुढ़िया का इलाज कर सके । जड़ी-बूटियों से उसने मलहम बनाया और उसे बुढ़िया के घावों पर लगाया । उससे बुढ़िया को आराम म. मिला । वह बुढ़िया की सेवा में लगा रहा । जब बुढ़िया अच्छी हो गई, तो ला उससे विदा लेकर आगे चल दिया । रास्ता समाप्त होने पर सामने ही गुफा थी । उसी गुफा में वह अनमोल खजाना था । वहाँ समीर को वे तीन दरवाजे कहीं नजर नहीं आए, जिनसे गुजरकर खजाने तक पर पहुंचना था । वह गुफा में पहुँचा, तो उसे गुफा में कोई खजाना तो नहीं मिला । केवल एक पुस्तक मिली, जिस पर लिखा था-“मैं ही अनमोल खजाना हूँ।”
समीर उस पुस्तक को लेकर लौट चला । महल तक पहले खबर पहुँच चुकी थी कि एक नवयुवक राजा का इच्छित अनमोल खजाना लाने में सफल हो गया है।
महल में उसके स्वागत की तैयारियाँ होने लगीं । समीर महल में पहुँचा, तो राजा यशोधन और राजकुमारी सुचिता ने उसका स्वागत किया । वहाँ गुरुदेव भी उपस्थित थे । समीर ने वह पुस्तक राजा को दी और आपबीती बता दी।
“यही अनमोल खजाना है यशोधन !”- समीर की बात सुनकर गुरुदेव मुसकराकर बोले-“यह नवयुवक सुचिता से विवाह करने के योग्य है ।”
“परंतु गुरुदेव !” -राजा आश्चर्य से बोले-“यह नवयुवक तो उन तीन दरवाजों से गुजरा ही नहीं, जिनकी चर्चा आपने की थी। भला, यह पुस्तक अनमोल खजाना कैसे हो सकती है ?”
यह पुस्तक ही अनमोल खजाना है । इसका नाम है जीवन !” –
गुरुदेव ने कहा – युवक तो तीन दरवाजों से गुजर चुका है ! यह पुस्तक ही अनमोल खजाना है । इसका नाम है जीवन !”
“मैं समझा नहीं गुरुदेव ।”
सब गुरुदेव का मुँह देख रहे थे । गुरुदेव कहने लगे -“भयानक जंगलों और घड़ियालों का मुकाबला करके यह युवक नदी के किनारे पहुँचा । ये काम उसने केवल अपनी वीरता के सहारे ही किए । फिर उसे एक महल मिला, जिसमें हीरे-जवाहरात और सोने-चांदी के ढेर लगे थे। यदि यह चाहता, तो वहाँ से ढेर सारे हीरे-मोती लाकर अपना जीवन संवार सकता था । परन्तु इसने उन्हें छुआ भी नहीं, क्योंकि वे किसी दूसरे के थे ।
यह इसकी ईमानदारी थी । आगे इसने एक बुढ़िया की सेवा की । यदि इसके स्थान पर कोई दूसरा होता, तो बुढ़िया के पीछे अपना समय नहीं गंवाता । यह इसके दयालु होने का उदाहरण है । जिस व्यक्ति में ये तीन गुण हों, वह दुनिया में क्या नहीं कर सकता ! इसलिए यही सुचिता का पति बनने के योग्य है ?”

Kalinga had a daughter of King Yashodhara. His name was Suchima. She was very beautiful, gentle and brave. These qualities were discussed from house to house. When Suchima grew older, the king began to worry about her marriage.
Although thousands of young men were willing to marry Suchima, but none of them liked the king. If a boy liked Yashodhan, he did not like Suchima. Thus Suchima’s marriage became a matter of concern for the king. He would remain lost in this confusion day and night. One day, the Guru of Yashodhan visited the palace. The king told him his problem.
“Enough for this?” -Gurudev laughed listening to Raja- “It is very easy to cure! Create a swayamvar for Suchima’s marriage. The groom that Suchima will get by the swayamvara will be absolutely worthy of it.”
“What is the condition for Swayamvara, Gurudev!” – The king asked .
Gurudev said that the path in the forest ends in a cave. There is precious treasure in that cave. One has to go through three doors to reach the treasure. The young man who goes through those three doors will bring that precious treasure, he will be married to Princess Suchima. “
“it’s so great .” -Raja’s eyes started glowing with joy. He immediately ordered an announcement.
Upon hearing the announcement, the young man, who wanted to marry Princess Suchima, woke up happily. They set out in search of that precious treasure. But the path to reach the treasury was not so easy. It was a terrible forest. Of wild animals. It was full Poisonous insects and freaks crawled at every step. It was very difficult to find a way out of animals and insects.
The young men who had gone out in search of that treasure, as soon as they reached the forest, returned fearing or injured by wild animals. Even if something progressed, it could not go, because where that forest ended, there was a fast flowing river. There were big gongs in it.
The water of that river was very fast, so there was no boat there. Could walk There is no option but to swim across that river. Was. But getting into the river was like an invitation to his death. Ghadiyal used to break down on the descending river. And used to lick it. Seeing this, everyone lost courage.
There was also a brave young man named Sameer in Kalinga. When she heard the announcement, she also woke up to find the princess. He set out to fetch that precious treasure.
He faced the same troubles while passing through the forest. On the way, a snake bites him at one place. He released poison with great difficulty. Further, a lion attacked him and injured him badly. Still having trouble, he somehow reached the banks of the river.
On reaching the bank of the river, he was seen floating several gongs in the river. But he showed courage. Holded his sword firmly. He jumped into the river. As he jumped into the river, he was attacked by several crocodiles.
Sameer started killing them with his sword. He kept swimming and moving forward. He also suffered wounds in one or two places. Eventually he reached the other bank of the river.
On the other bank of the river, he saw a large palace. He moved towards the palace. He saw a plank on the palace door. It was written on it – ‘Everything in this palace is in the owner. No one should try to touch or lift anything in this palace without curry permission. ‘
Reading those words, he went inside the palace, then his eyes were torn with surprise. There were heaps of diamonds and pearls and gold and silver around the palace. There was no one to protect them.
There was a boat outside the palace. Anyone could steal those diamonds and beads and run away easily by that boat. But Sameer did not even think about it. He went ahead.
On the way he found an old lady. The old woman was badly injured. She said to Samir- “Son, a bull has injured me badly. I am suffering severe wounds. Help me.” Sameer was very sad to see the old lady’s pain. He forgot what he came from there for.
After picking up the old lady, he went to her hut, which was near. Putting the old lady in bed, he began to collect herbs from the forest, so that the old lady could be treated. She made ointment with herbs and applied it to old age wounds. It helps to comfort the old lady. met . He continued to serve the old lady. When the old lady got well, La proceeded with goodbye. When the way was over, there was a cave in front. He was a precious treasure in the same cave. There Sameer did not see those three doors, which had to pass through to reach the treasury. When he reached the cave, he could not find any treasure in the cave. Only one book was found on which it was written, “I am the priceless treasure”.
Sameer returned with that book. News had reached the palace earlier that a young man had succeeded in bringing the king’s desired priceless treasure.
Preparations were made to welcome him in the palace. When Sameer reached the palace, King Yashodhan and Princess Suchita welcomed him. Gurudev was also present there. Sameer gave the book to Raja and told him about it.
“This is the precious treasure Yashodhan!” – Hearing Sameer, Gurudev smiled and said – “This young man is eligible to marry Suchita.”
